CITY OF BRENHAM RESPONDING TO WATER MAIN BREAKS

The City of Brenham is working to repair several water main breaks.

The city said in a notice this (Tuesday) afternoon that it is dealing with seven to ten water main issues.

Public Works Director Dane Rau said one break is located at West Main Street and Jackson Street, but the city is still attempting to locate all of the breaks.

Rau said numerous utility crews are responding to the water main leaks, as well as the ongoing power outages and several residential calls of busted pipes.

Rau said the city is still evaluating the situation, and that low water pressure has been reported in some areas, but does not anticipate a boil water notice will be issued at this time.

  1. Well we have been on a little vacation we had planned from last year.
Now can’t get back home, stuck in the Florida Keys of all places.
I want to thank the water department for their prompt response shutting off water to my house. Had a friend check on the house only to find water leaking from the vents and ceiling.
    Can’t wait to get back…

  2. I’m having the same problem as discussed by Carol Montgomery above. My water stopped dripping in the wee hours of the morning and I noticed it upon waking at 5:20am. I opened all the faucet valves fully, thinking that I must have frozen pipes. Eventually, water returned, but the pressure is super low even when fully open.
I live at 806 Cobble Gate Dr.

  3. I live at 1010 Rootstock Rd. #8, Brenham TX 77833 (Vintage Farms Subdivision) I’ve had all my faucets dripping for 3 days now. Last night at 7 pm they completely stopped. I don’t believe the pipes are frozen.
Could this be from one of water mains being repaired?
Please let me know by text or email.
