BURTON SCHOOL BOARD TO CONSIDER TEA WAIVERS, INCLEMENT WEATHER RESOLUTION

The Burton School Board will take up a pair of items related to the recent winter weather at its meeting Monday.

Members of the Burton School Board meet February 8th to discuss a custodial services contract with ABM. The meeting was broadcast via Zoom.

The board will consider waivers from the Texas Education Agency (TEA).  The TEA says districts or campuses can request waivers to avoid having to make up missed school days if the reason for missing them was due to inclement weather.

Trustees will also consider a resolution regarding an inclement weather emergency.

Also at Monday’s meeting, the board will mull a contract for the Burton special services cooperative director.  The board is expected to discuss the contract in executive session.

The board will also consider approval of an ESC Region VI purchasing cooperative agreement and resolution.  There will also be reports from the superintendent, elementary and high school principals, and athletic director.

The board will meet Monday evening at 6 p.m.  The log-in and call-in information for the meeting is posted below.  Any public comments must be submitted to ekennedy@stu.burtonisd.net between 5:15 and 5:45 p.m. Monday afternoon to be included in the meeting.
