LOCAL LIONS CLUBS RECYCLE USED EYEGLASSES

Several Brenham and Washington County Lions Clubs recently recycled hundreds of pairs of eyeglasses.

The Brenham Evening Lions Club, Brenham Noon Lions Club and Washington County Ladies Lions Club delivered recycled eyeglasses to Jane Istre Curlee, District 2S5 Eyeglasses Recycling Chair in Smithville.

The Evening and Noon Lions Clubs collected 239 pairs of glasses and 52 sunglasses.  The Ladies Lions Club collected 220 pairs of glasses, 37 sunglasses and 35 sets of lenses.

This is a total recycling effort of 459 glasses, 35 lens sets and 89 sunglasses from the Washington County area.  Eyeglass recycling is a signature activity of each club with collection boxes in the city.

Evening Lion Randal Hoppens made the delivery for the groups.
