‘DUKE’ NAMED PET OF THE WEEK; GRANT FUNDS AVAILABLE TO ASSIST PET OWNERS

  

The Brenham Pet Adoption Center has named “Duke” as its Pet of the Week.

Duke is a young Chow Chow mix about a year old.  Brenham Animal Services staff say Duke is a larger dog with a thick coat and medium energy.  They say Duke is “bouncy and full of fun,” and would enjoy having kids to spend his time with.

Staff also say Duke arrived at the shelter with another dog, so he is used to having a playmate.

Potential pet adopters or fosters can see the shelter’s available pets online at www.petfinder.com.  They can also make an appointment to meet a pet by calling 979-337-7351, or by visiting the Brenham Animal Services Facebook page.  The shelter is open Tuesday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Brenham residents who are in need of sterilization, basic healthcare assistance or food for their pets are encouraged to call the shelter or email animalservices@cityofbrenham.org.  The shelter recently received a $5,000 grant from Petco Love to assist pet owners in the community.
