STATE TRACK CHAMPION KEANU JONES CHOOSES AGGIES FOR COLLEGIATE CAREER
Brenham State-Champion track star Keanu Jones has chosen to stay in the Brazos Valley to pursue his college track career.
Jones has signed a national letter-of-intent to run at Texas A&M University. He says he reached the decision Saturday morning.
The State Champion in the 100-meter dash chose A&M from among the offers from 35 different schools.
According to Jones the final decision came down to A&M, UT-Austin, UT-San Antonio and the University of Houston.
Jones says Texas has always been his ‘dream school’, but in football. He says A&M’s successful track program gives him the best chance at a championship.
Jones took the State Championship in the 100-meter dash, May 7th with a personal best and Cub record, :10.23.
At the Brenham High School Athletic Awards program, May 10th, Jones was presented with the Owen E. Erekson Award for top Senior Male Athlete at Brenham High School.
