TRIO OF CUBS NAMED ACADEMIC ALL-STATE BASEBALL

Three members of the Brenham Cubs baseball team have been named Texas High School Coaches Association and Texas Army National Guard Academic All-State.

Ben Bosse and Henry Cone were named to the First Team and Jake Kolkhorst was named to Second Team.

Bosse, who signed to play college baseball at the University of Auburn, was 8-4 on the season with a 1.55 ERA and 115 strikeouts in 63 innings pitched.

Cone, who singed with Baylor University, hit .345 with 23 runs scored and 25 runs batted in.  He also had three home runs.

Kolkhorst, who is committed to TCU, was 10-1 on the mound, with a 1.77 ERA and 96 strikeouts in 63 innings.  At the plate, Kolkhorst hits .345 with 15 runs scored and 18 rbi’s.

The Cubs ended the 2021 season 26-7 overall and 11-3 in district play.
