BLINN ANNOUNCES OBSERVANCE FRIDAY OF JUNETEENTH NATIONAL HOLIDAY

  

Blinn College Chancellor Mary Hensley has announced that Blinn will be shut down today and tomorrow in observance of America’s newest national holiday.

Hensley announced Thursday that all offices and campuses of the Blinn College District will be closed today and tomorrow in observance of President Biden signing bill making Juneteenth a federal holiday.

Hensely announced that face-to-face and online classes originally scheduled to take place on these days are canceled so that Blinn students and employees may observe the holiday.

Also, the Texas A&M University System is shutting down today in observance of Juneteenth being designated a national holiday.

Chancellor John Sharp says, “This is a special day that originated in Texas and we’re proud to honor it.”
