“Hot Nights, Cool Tunes” brought a splash of soul this weekend to downtown Brenham.

The Brown Sugar Band had crowds dancing in the street Saturday night with the smooth sounds of Motown, R&B, contemporary hits and old school rock n’ roll.

In addition to the music, guests also enjoyed food and drinks from local businesses and vendors.  Meanwhile, car enthusiasts could stroll down Alamo Street to see a variety of classic vehicles and hot rods during a cruise-in hosted by the Stray Katz Car Club.

The concert was sponsored by Woodson Lumber Company, Citizens State Bank, Budweiser – Mike Hopkins Distributing, and Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative.

The summer concert series closes out this upcoming Saturday with a returning favorite from last year: Escape, a tribute group out of Houston that takes fans through the years of American rock band Journey.  That performance is sponsored by Brannon Industrial Group, Strand Associates, Brazos Valley Schools Credit Union, and Baylor Scott and White.
