SUSPECT IN ARLINGTON SCHOOL SHOOTING IN CUSTODY; 4 INJURED

(Arlington Police Dept.)
A suspect in a shooting on Wednesday at a high school near Dallas that left four people injured is in custody.
The Arlington Police Department says 18-year-old Timothy Simpkins was charged with three counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon after the shooting at Timberview High School. He is in jail on $75,000 bond.
Arlington Assistant Police Chief Kevin Kolbye said police believe the shooting started after a fight between Simpkins and another student. He was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon after fleeing the campus.
Police say three of the four people injured were taken to the hospital, one in critical condition.
The gun that police believe was used in the shooting was found in the street in Grand Prairie, a few miles from the campus.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is investigating to determine how and where the gun was obtained.
Classes for Timberview High School are cancelled today (Thursday).
