JENNIFER HERMANN, BRAD TEGELER CHOSEN BY VOTERS FOR HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD

Two property owners in downtown Brenham have been chosen by voters to serve on the City of Brenham’s new Historic Preservation Board.

Jennifer Hermann, owner of Hermann Furniture, and Brad Tegeler, the owner of the building that houses the Downtown Art Gallery on West Alamo Street, received the most votes from a slate of 15 candidates, which were nominated and voted upon by other downtown property owners.

Hermann and Tegeler will fill two of seven positions on the board, which was created in connection with the recently approved Historic Preservation Ordinance.  Four of the seven positions, including the two voter-selected seats, must be property owners in downtown.

The Brenham City Council will consider approval of a full board at its meeting November 4th.
