BURTON FFA LIVESTOCK JUDGING TEAM WELCOMED HOME FROM INDIANAPOLIS
Burton ISD celebrated the return home today (Friday) of Burton FFA’s Livestock Judging Team, newly named the second-best in the nation.

Students, staff members, cheerleaders, band members and other community supporters lined the halls of Burton High School to hold a surprise welcome-back rally for Chet Fritsch, Waylon Hinze, Weston Hinze and Tanna Thiel.
The team earned the title of Reserve National Champion after placing second at the 94th National FFA Convention and Expo’s Livestock Contest in Indianapolis. Waylon Hinze finished in the top 12 as an individual.
After the four made their way through the high school and walked by the football stadium, they entered the Ag Building where they were greeted by a room full of balloons and confetti.
Each of the team members thanked all of the community for their continued backing, saying these accomplishments would not be possible without their support.
The team, coached and advised by Nicholas Herr and Jessica Teufel, will look to add to its long list of accolades in two weeks when it travels to Louisville, Kentucky for a national 4-H contest.
