ALL WASHINGTON CO. SALES TAX REBATES UP IN NOVEMBER
Sales and tax distributions were up across Washington County for the fifth straight month.
Washington County’s rebate in November totaled $355,664, up 24.3 percent from last November’s payment of $286,056. Through 2021 so far, the county has received $3,274,099, an increase of 16.6 percent from the $2,806,515 received at this point last year.
Brenham’s rebate was up 22.1 percent as it received $781,739 this month, compared to $639,796 last November. To date, the city has received $7,294,016, up 14.1 percent from its receipts through November 2020 of $6,390,518.
Burton received $7,627 in November, a 1.6 percent increase from the $7,504 it received last November. So far this year, the city has received $82,415, up 4.3 percent from a year ago, when its rebates totaled $79,000.
Comptroller Glenn Hegar reported a state payout of $1.07 billion in local sales tax allocations in November, up 20.6 percent from last November and up 14.2 percent this year to date.
