AEROSPACE ENGINEER, BLINN ALUMNUS TO HOLD VIRTUAL PRESENTATION TUESDAY

A former Blinn College student that has had a nearly 40-year career in aerospace science will be speaking to his alma mater next week.

Aerospace Engineer Michael Harrison is going to give a Zoom presentation on the James Webb Space Telescope this Tuesday, February 8, at 6pm.

The presentation is free and open to the public. A question and answer session will follow.

Harrison was part of the international team that worked on the Telescope, which launched on Christmas Day 2021, and is now orbiting the sun almost one million miles from the Earth.

His specialty is designing data acquisition and satellite guidance systems.

Harrison grew up a block away from the Blinn College Brenham campus. He attended Blinn as a student from 1975-1976.

His Zoom presentation is being sponsored by the divisions of Business & Mathematics; Engineering, Computer Technology, and Innovation; and Natural and Physical Sciences.
