16 TRANSPORTED AFTER CHARTER BUS CARRYING BASEBALL TEAM ROLLS OVER IN WALLER CO.

  

Update @ 10:15 a.m.: A charter bus carrying members of a Tomball baseball team rolled over Wednesday night in Waller County.

According to Waller Police Captain Michael Lopez, the accident occurred after 9 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of Highway 290 at FM 362.  The bus was on its passenger side when authorities arrived.

Cpt. Lopez said 21 people were aboard the bus at the time of the accident.  The bus was carrying members of the Spartans Post Grad Baseball Academy, who were traveling home after playing in Ranger.

Cpt. Lopez said a total of 16 people were taken to the hospital, including two by helicopter.  One person had to be extricated from the bus.  The driver was among those who were transported.

Per Waller County EMS, all of the injuries were non-life threatening.

Waller police continue to investigate what caused the crash.

 

Original Story @ 6:45 a.m.: Two passengers on a private charter bus were flown to the hospital Wednesday night after the bus rolled over in Waller County.

The Waller County Sheriff’s Office says the accident occurred in the eastbound lanes of Highway 290 at FM 362.  A total of 21 passengers were on the bus.

According to the sheriff’s office, the injuries sustained by the two passengers were non-life threatening.  There are no reported fatalities at this time.

The Waller Police Department is investigating the crash.
