A former Blinn Buccaneer is coming home to continue his NFL playing career.  The Houston Texans have claimed cornerback Kendall Sheffield off waivers from the Atlanta Falcons.

Sheffield was the #3 ranked cornerback in the nation when he went to Fort Bend Marshall High School in Missouri City, Texas.

Originally, Sheffield went to college at Alabama, where he red-shirted his first year.

Then, Sheffield transferred to Blinn for the 2016 season where he would be a starting cornerback and kick returner.  While at Blinn, he recorded 31 tackles, two interceptions, and 11 pass break-ups.  He also returned a kickoff and a punt for touchdowns.

After Blinn, Sheffield transferred to Ohio State for three seasons. He was drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in the fourth round in 2019. Sheffield's best season in Atlanta came in 2020, where he recorded 51 tackles.
