WASHINGTON CO. SALES TAX REBATES ALL UP FOR JUNE
All Washington County entities showed increases in sales and tax distributions during the month of June.
Washington County received $346,946 this month, up 26.77 percent from its payment last June of $287,873. So far this year, the county’s receipts total $2,119,902, 28.06 percent more than the $1,655,288 it had received at this time last year.
Brenham’s June rebate was $783,285, a 15.7 percent increase from last June, when it received $676,975. Through 2022 so far, the city has received $4,510,987, up 19.52 percent from its total through this point last year at $3,773,947.
Burton’s rebate was up 10.02 percent from last June at $7,590, compared to $6,898 a year ago. To date, the city has received $48,772, an increase of 12.15 percent from this time a year ago, when its payout was $43,486.
Comptroller Glenn Hegar reported a total state payout of $1.01 billion this month, up 11.6 percent from last June and up 18.2 percent for the year so far.
