NATIONAL AQUATIC WEEK NEXT WEEK AT BLUE BELL AQUATIC CENTER

The Blue Bell Aquatic Center is gearing up for National Aquatic Week.

The aquatic center will put on different themed activities all through next week, from 1 to 5 p.m. on Monday and from 12:30 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday to Friday.

Assistant Aquatic Superintendent Kelsey Toy says the week is all about taking a break from the heat and having a good time at the pool.

On Monday, the aquatic center will host a variety of 4th of July activities for Independence Day.

Tuesday is Safety Day, and local first responders including police, firefighters, EMS and Texas Parks and Wildlife will be on hand to provide safety rules and tips for children.  There will also be water safety demonstrations.

For Fiesta Day on Wednesday, families can enjoy activities like bean bag races, cactus ring toss and “Pin the Mustache on the Mariachi.”

Luau Day on Thursday will have limbo contests and hula hoop chain races.

The week wraps up with Ice Cream Float Day on Friday, where free ice cream floats will be provided throughout the day.

KTEX-106’s Courtney Cartwright and Trail Boss Troy will be at the aquatic center on Tuesday for Safety Day, broadcasting live from the KTEX Country Cruiser with the Wagon Wheel of Prizes.
