TWO KILLED IN CRASH ON HIGHWAY 105 IN BRENHAM

Two people were killed after a Thursday morning collision in Brenham.

Brenham police responded just after 7 a.m. to the 1800 block of Highway 105 for a two-vehicle crash.  Once on scene, police say they found a two-door pickup truck and a four-door passenger car that were involved.

Preliminary investigation from the police department’s accident reconstruction team indicates the driver of the truck crossed over into the opposite lane of traffic, leading to a head-on collision.  The driver of the truck, 20-year-old Dustin Hunter of Brenham, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the passenger car, 58-year-old Jacqueline Smith of Brenham, was airlifted by Washington County EMS to receive treatment for her injuries, but later passed away.

Investigation remains ongoing at this time.
