BLINN STUDENTS CAN APPLY FOR PERKINS GRANT FUNDS

Blinn College is encouraging eligible Applied Sciences majors taking spring 2023 courses to apply for funds made available through the Carl D. Perkins Basic Grant.

The Perkins Grant is a federally funded program that provides community colleges with resources to enhance and develop programs that serve faculty, staff, and students in career and technical education departments.

Perkins funds can be applied towards textbooks. Students in 25 different CTE programs may be eligible.

The on-line application process at www.blinn.edu opened yesterday (Monday) at 10am, and closes at 10am this coming Monday, October 10.

Students must complete the Perkins assistance application form during the application dates to be eligible for consideration.

Financial assistance is available on a first-come, first served basis for enrolled students.

To be eligible, students must: be an Applied Sciences or Pre-Applied Sciences major, be registered for at least six hours for the Spring 2023 semester, be enrolled in at least one Applied Sciences degree or certificate plan course, have at least a minimum 2.5 grade point average, and have a valid, current Blinn student e-mail address.

Registration for Blinn’s winter mini-mester and spring semester opens for current students next Monday, October 10, at 9am. They will then be open to all students beginning on Monday, October 17, at 9am.
