Community members and first responders came together Tuesday night for the annual Texas National Night Out.

All around the area, residents and neighbors held block parties and gatherings to get to know their local law enforcement agencies, firefighters, paramedics and emergency dispatchers.

The theme for National Night Out this year was “Aloha Spirit”, so many celebrated by wearing their favorite beach going attire.

KWHI and KTEX-106 were on hand at parties in Brenham, Burton, Chappell Hill, Berlin, Giddings, Latium-Wesley-Greenvine, Millheim, Snook, Caldwell and Somerville.

National Night Out was established in 1984 as a crime prevention program to enhance relationships between local communities and authorities.
