CONTRIBUTIONS TO EDUCATION FOUNDATIONS DURING BRAZOS VALLEY GIVES CAN TRIPLE THROUGH MATCHING GRANT

Anyone looking to support their local school district during the Brazos Valley Gives fundraiser can have their donations triple in value, following a grant from the Greater Texas Foundation.

The Bryan-based foundation awarded a grant of $40,000 to the Community Foundation of the Brazos Valley to provide matching funds for eight public K-12 education foundations participating in Brazos Valley Gives.

The Brenham, Burton, Caldwell, Somerville, Navasota, Centerville, Bryan and College Station ISD education foundations will receive a 2:1 match for the first $2,500 they raise.  For every $1 donated, the Greater Texas Foundation will provide $2 more.

Greater Texas Foundation President and CEO Sue McMillin said their goal is to “remove barriers to educational opportunity for young people across Texas.”

Community Foundation President and CEO Patricia Gerling said the annual fundraiser “provides businesses and local foundations with an opportunity to support important quality of life needs throughout the Brazos Valley.”

Early giving is now open for the 4th Annual Brazos Valley Gives.  The 18-hour online giving challenge is on Tuesday.  To learn more, or to donate, visit www.brazosvalleygives.org.
