WASHINGTON COUNTY RESIDENTS RECEIVE THE AWA “WILL ROGERS AWARD”

  

Two Washington County residents were recognized for their effort to preserve and perpetuate the heritage of the American cowboy.

Lonnie and Barbara Tegeler of Chappell Hill received the Will Rogers Award from the Academy of Western Artists for their “Rocking T” chuck wagon.

The award was presented to the Tegelers last Thursday in the Brown Lupton Ballroom on the campus of TCU in Fort Worth.

The “Rocking T” chuck wagon has been in the Tegeler family for over 100 years and has competed as an authentic chuck wagon in competitive events throughout Texas and surrounding states.

The Tegelers have also been featured on The Food Network, while competing in the Lincoln County Cowboy Symposium in Ruiodoso, New Mexico.

The “Rocking T” chuck wagon has also been at the center of attention at numerous community and school events.
