A SPRING MAN ARRESTED AFTER A MULTI-COUNTY CHASE
A Spring man was arrested after leading law enforcement on a multi-county chase early Monday morning.
College Station Police say that 41-year-old Chad Johnson was driving a truck on Highway 6 at the William B. Fitch Parkway around 3:30am. The truck was reported stolen out of Montgomery County.
When they attempted to pull him over, Johnson is accused of increasing his speed and headed towards Grimes County. According to a report by KBTX-TV, the chase reached speeds of over 100 miles per hour.
The Navasota Police put out spikes on the road, and even after running over them, Johnson refused to stop.
The truck continued down Highway 6 and onto Highway 90, where Johnson lost control of the truck and slammed into a police cruiser.
He then got out of the truck and attempted to flee the scene on foot before officers finally took him into custody.
Johnson was transported to the Brazos County Detention Center where he has been charged with Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, and Evading Arrest.
