The Grand Ol’ Christmas Show is a spectacle of familiar Christmas songs, skits and comedy presented in the format of a vintage live radio broadcast at the 1225 AM N.O.E.L Radio Studio.  It will play at The Barnhill Center on Saturday, December 17th at 7 p.m.

The theatrical-style production features the American band Blue Water Highway, along with a twelve-piece big band, a gospel choir, and some of the state’s best singers and entertainers.

The Barnhill Center producer Sharon Brass calls this “a traditional, red-blooded, all American, old-fashioned Christmas Show.”  She says, “The large cast takes you back to a simpler time, and leaves you with a warm feeling for the holidays.”

The first show in 2003 was a one-night-only fundraiser for the Brazoria County Youth Home.  It sold out and was an instant surprise hit.  It was produced again in Lake Jackson in 2004, 2005, 2009, and 2015, selling out every time.

In 2016, the producers were approached by an entertainment company offering an opportunity to test the concept in markets outside Lake Jackson.  The show went on a mini-tour in Texas that year, and its success resulted in an annual Texas tour ever since.

Having been created in the format of a live radio show, The Grand Ol’ Christmas Show partners with 95.9 FM in Fort Worth to broadcast on a syndicated radio program heard all over Texas and the United States, from Oregon to Florida.

Since the show’s inception, its proceeds have helped raise over $110,000 for various charitable organizations in Brazoria County and beyond.
