(Washington Co. Jail)
A Brenham man faces several charges after a burglary call led to a foot pursuit with Brenham police early Sunday morning.
Police responded around 1:15 a.m. to United Rentals at 2700 Highway 290 West in reference to a burglary alarm.
Officers arrived and located the suspect, 40-year-old Patrick Dion Hurd, who fled on foot from the business. Police say they found Hurd hiding under a raised shipping container in the area.
Hurd was taken into custody for Evading Arrest/Detention as officers investigated the original alarm call. Police located a pistol in the area where they report Hurd crossed a fence line during the foot pursuit.
Hurd was subsequently charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Criminal Trespass and Attempted Theft of Property between $30,000 and $150,000. He was taken to the Washington County Jail.
