BRENHAM BOWLING TEAMS START SEASON WITH A WIN

Brenham's Boys and Girls teams kicked off their defense of the Bluebonnet District crown Wednesday at Rose Bowl Lanes with a victory over Bellville.

Senior Lane Sparks, the only boy starter returning from last year's team that made it all the way to the State Tournament, led Brenham with games of 201 and 177.

In other action:

  • Senior RJ Ratliff lost his first game to Zender Felter of Bellville, but came back to win the second game and the match.
  • Sophomore Tyler Lindemann also won his match.
  • For Bellville, Freshman Ryan Duffala won his match over Brenham's freshman, Thomas Loesch.
  • Joe Dubowik also bowled well for Brenham in his match.
  • In the team portion of the match, all three games were close with Brenham winning by one, three, and ten pins respectively.

On the girl's side, Senior Leah Hardy had games of 157 and 153 to lead all bowlers.  Leah is also the only starter to return from last year's girl's team that competed at State.

Macie Coskey, Erin Keller, Kendal Gurka, and Emmy Boyd also all won their matches .

All of the Brenham girls averaged over 100 for their matches.

The Bluebonnet District's next match is Wednesday, December 7th, when Burton takes on Brenham at Rose Bowl Lanes.
