ONE DEAD, ONE CRITICALLY INJURED AFTER CRASH IN PLANTERSVILLE
One person was killed and another was hospitalized with serious injuries after a two-vehicle crash Monday afternoon in Grimes County.
DPS reports the accident occurred just before 3 p.m. on Highway 105 at FM 1774, in Plantersville.
Troopers say a 2016 Kia Sportage was traveling eastbound on Highway 105 and attempted to turn onto FM 1774 when it was struck by a westbound 2010 Dodge Ram.
The driver of the Kia, 63-year-old Leticia Bonilla of Anderson, was taken to St. Joseph Health Grimes Hospital in Navasota, where she was pronounced dead. The passenger, 59-year-old Raul Bonilla of Anderson, was taken to St. Joseph Health Regional Hospital in Bryan and is in critical condition.
The driver of the Dodge, 29-year-old Edgar Garcia Almaguer of Brenham, was treated and released with minor injuries on the scene. The passenger, 19-year-old Hector Martinez of Brenham, was not injured.
DPS continues to investigate the crash.
