SCHULENBURG MAN CAUGHT WITH DRUGS DURING WARRANT ARREST

A Schulenburg man was arrested yesterday (Wednesday) when authorities went to serve him with a warrant and found him in possession of a large amount of the drug, Ecstasy.
The Fayette County Narcotics Unit, the Austin County Regional Special Response Team, and the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Task Force went to serve a Felony 1 Warrant for Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance at the Pilot truck stop in Schulenburg.
The suspect, 28-year-old Shaquille Laquan Oliver, led officers on a brief foot chase through the parking lot, into the woods, and out to the I-10 frontage road.
Oliver was apprehended after resisting arrest. Investigators retrieved two bags that he was seen throwing into the woods during the chase.
Investigators said the bags contained 183 pills of Ecstasy. The pills were also field tested, and came back positive for methamphetamines.
Oliver was booked into the Dan R. Beck Justice Center for two active warrants for Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance between 4 grams and 200 grams, Evading Arrest/Detention with Previous Convictions, Tampering with Physical Evidence with the Intent to Impair, Resisting Arrest/Search/Transport, and an additional charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance between 4 grams and 200 grams.
