The Grand Ol’ Christmas Show combines favorite Christmas classics with original sketch comedy and antics, presented in the format of a vintage live radio broadcast at the 1225 AM N.O.E.L Radio Studio.  It plays at The Barnhill Center at 7 p.m.

The original production, which tours the state every year during the holidays, features the American band Blue Water Highway and a large cast of top Texas musicians and entertainers.

The Barnhill Center producer Sharon Brass says The Grand Ol’ Christmas Show “has become such a hit across Texas that many similar venues present the show every Christmas season – and they say their audiences can’t get enough.”

The first show in 2003 was a one-night-only fundraiser for the Brazoria County Youth Home.  It sold out and was an instant surprise hit.  It was produced again in Lake Jackson in 2004, 2005, 2009, and 2015, selling out every time.

In 2016, the producers were approached by an entertainment company offering an opportunity to test the concept in markets outside Lake Jackson.  The show went on a mini-tour in Texas that year, and its success resulted in an annual Texas tour ever since.

Having been created in the format of a live radio show, The Grand Ol’ Christmas Show partners with 95.9 FM in Fort Worth to broadcast on a syndicated radio program heard all over Texas and the United States, from Oregon to Florida.

Since the show’s inception, its proceeds have helped raise over $110,000 for various charitable organizations in Brazoria County and beyond.

Tickets for the show are still available, starting at $60.  They can be purchased at www.thebarnhillcenter.com
