Ben Lewis’ sixth grade social studies and gateway science class at Brenham Middle School got special recognition today (Tuesday) on national news.

In the final minute of today’s CNN 10 newscast, anchor Coy Wire acknowledges Lewis and his class, who turned interviews with citizens over 60, U.S. immigrants and veterans into a book called “The American Experience”, raising money for the Wounded Warrior Project.  Wire then holds up a copy of the book and a note filled with the signatures of students from the class.

The class, which recently published its third volume of “The American Experience”, has been recognized by the Brenham City Council and by U.S. Congressman Michael McCaul.

Copies of the book can be purchased from any student in the class or by contacting Lewis at blewis@brenhamk-12.net.  They are also available on Amazon.
