BRENHAM BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT APPROVES RESIDENTIAL LOT DEPTH VARIANCE
The Brenham Board of Adjustment approved a request to reduce lot depth for a single-family home at its meeting Monday.
The request from Chris and DeeAnna Marek was for a variance to allow the existing 102.72-foot lot depth for a 0.386-acre property at 604 South Baylor Street. A minimum of 115 feet is typically required.
The applicants plan to demolish a metal storage shed located near the south property line and build a new 576-square-foot, single-story detached accessory dwelling unit (ADU). The ADU was approved by the city council on January 19th.
Due to an accessory structure not being allowed to be a principal structure on a lot, the two lots on the property must be replatted into one in order to ensure the ADU is not sold separately on its own. The replat request will go before the Planning and Zoning Commission on April 24th.
