BLINN BOARD TO PROPOSE PROPERTY TAX RATE

  

The Blinn Board of Trustees will hold a special meeting Thursday to formally propose a new property tax rate for the new tax year.

According to Blinn Communications Director Richard Bray, the Blinn College administration will recommend a tax rate of $0.0468 per $100 valuation. The currently adopted tax rate is $0.0438 per $100. 

Per the tax rate calculation worksheet posted on the Blinn College website, the no-new-revenue rate listed for the upcoming year is $0.042653, and the voter-approval rate is $0.046857.

Action by trustees will include the setting of a date for a public hearing to discuss the tax rate before adoption.

The board will meet Thursday at 2 p.m. in the third-floor board room of the Brenham Campus Administration Building.
