PUTNAM, LUCHERK, FUCHS SWORN IN FOR NEW TERMS ON BURTON SCHOOL BOARD

The Burton School Board swore in the winners of Saturday’s election for new terms at a meeting Tuesday.

Returning incumbents Dean Fuchs, Misty Lucherk and Donna Putnam received the oath of office.

Lucherk has served on the board for 12 years, while Fuchs and Putnam have been on the board since 2020.

After the trustees were sworn in, members were selected to serve as board president, vice president and secretary.  Jeff Harmel will be board president, while Lucherk will act as vice president and Putnam was chosen to be secretary.

The returns from Saturday’s election were also canvassed by the board.  A total of 938 votes were cast in the election, with Fuchs receiving 264, Lucherk obtaining 233, Putnam getting 227 and Ande Bostain tallying 214.

The board also heard an update on progress with the school bond project, or in this case, the lack thereof.  DSA Construction Management Project Manager Stad Tomlinson said not a lot has changed since last month due to continued rain and wet conditions.
