JUVENILE ARRESTED FOR MURDER AT BIRTHDAY PARTY

The city of Brenham released Wednesday afternoon that the Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, in conjunction with the Texas Rangers, made an arrest in reference to the April 1, murder of Marquise Williams. A sixteen-year-old juvenile has been arrested and charged with murder. The suspect is a resident of Washington County and is currently in the custody of the juvenile justice system.
17-year-old Marquise Deshawn Williams of Waller County was one of two people that were shot after a large fight broke out at a birthday party on the 1200 Block of Tom Green Street.
Brenham Police Officers responded to a report of shots being fired around 10pm. When they arrived on the scene, they found numerous teens and parents fleeing the area.
Williams and the other victim, who has not been identified, were treated at the scene by off-duty paramedics until the Washington County EMS arrived.
They were then taken to the Emergency Room at Baylor Scott and White, where Williams later died.
