DOWNTOWN BRENHAM TO HOST SUMMER SIP & ART WALK SATURDAY

  

Tasty drinks and striking art displays will be in store for guests to downtown Brenham tomorrow (Saturday), as Main Street Brenham holds its Summer Sip & Art Walk.

Around 40 stops will be open and offering an assortment of beverages for visitors to sample as they shop and view the work of 30 different artists from 3 to 7 p.m.

Brenham Main Street Manager Leigh Linden says the event serves as a way for people to see everything that downtown Brenham has to offer while also supporting its continued growth. 

Linden says the drinks on tap will be a refreshing way to beat the summer heat.

Meanwhile, some of the art on hand will include acrylic paintings, jewelry, soap art demonstrations, watercolor, woodworking, abstract art, beer can art and quilting. 

Guests can arrive at the courthouse gazebo starting at 2 p.m. to check in and pick up their glass.  They will also receive a tote bag and a map showing all of the participating locations and artists.

According to Linden, at least 400 tickets have been sold of the 500 available.  As of this (Friday) morning, tickets could still be purchased at www.downtownbrenham.com for $30, but a limited number of glasses will be at the event for $35.
