SEARCH FOR ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT ENDS WITH ARREST IN BRENHAM

Update @ 2:45 p.m. Sunday: The Grimes County Sheriff's Office says a man who was the subject of a manhunt has been taken into custody in Brenham.

21-year-old Noel Wolfe was apprehended shortly before midnight on Saturday. Several agencies were searching for Wolfe after he was linked to an armed robbery in Hempstead.

The search was prompted after a vehicle pursuit came into Grimes County on Highway 6 from Waller County late Friday night. Navasota police spiked the vehicle, which stopped on Highway 105 East around County Road 410. A man, now identified as Wolfe, fled on foot into the woods.

Authorities continued their search into Saturday, with assisting agencies including the Navasota Police Department, Grimes County Sheriff's Office, College Station Police Department, Bryan Police Department, Waller County Sheriff's Office, Hempstead Police Department, South Brazos County Volunteer Fire Department, Texas Department of Public Safety and Texas Department of Criminal Justice.

At 11 p.m. Saturday, the sheriff's office announced that Wolfe had been picked up by family members and was no longer in the area. Just under an hour later, the sheriff's office stated he was arrested in Brenham.

Original Story @ 2:15 p.m. Saturday: Multiple agencies are searching in Grimes County for an armed robbery suspect.

The Navasota Police Department says it was requested to assist around 11:30 p.m. Friday with a vehicle pursuit that was northbound on Highway 6 from Waller County. Officers were advised that the fleeing vehicle was related to an armed robbery that occurred in Hempstead.

Navasota police spiked the evading vehicle, leading it to stop on Highway 105 East around County Road 410. A man was spotted evading on foot into the woods, and at this time has not been located.

The suspect is described as a Black male, early 20s, standing 6 feet tall and weighing 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and shorts. He is considered armed and dangerous.
