RIBBON CUTTING FRIDAY FOR HOHLT PARK CROSSOVER NATURE TRAIL

Improvements to Hohlt Park in Brenham will be celebrated at a Washington County Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting tomorrow (Friday).

The ribbon cutting is for the Hohlt Park crossover nature trail, located off of the walking trail behind the Dr. Bobbie M. Dietrich Memorial Amphitheatre.  The event will take place at 10 a.m. behind the amphitheatre.

The 0.59-mile trail system features different environments to explore, like bog/wetland areas, grassy fields, forested areas and pollinator gardens.  The trail’s design is for both recreation and educational purposes.

Work on the crossover nature trail took place from February to June and was done by local contractors Collier Construction and Robinson Landcare.

The project was primarily paid for with grant funding from the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department, with the remainder coming from the Brenham Community Development Corporation, which uses proceeds from local sales taxes to fund parks and recreation improvements.

Chamber ribbon cuttings are held in person and streamed live on the Chamber's Facebook page.
