BRENHAM POLICE ID SUSPECT IN FATAL SHOOTING INVESTIGATION; CRIME STOPPERS OFFERING REWARD

  

The Brenham Police Department has identified a primary suspect in a murder investigation stemming from a fatal shooting over the weekend.

Police say 22-year-old Trenton Deshunn Gilbert has an active warrant out for his arrest for Murder in connection with the shooting death of 25-year-old Laterius Ragston. 

Ragston was found with gunshot wounds after a reported weapons-related incident at 2:30 a.m. Sunday in the 800 block of Pleasantview Avenue.  He was treated by officers on scene and transported for emergency care, but succumbed to his injuries.

Washington County Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest or conviction of Gilbert. 

Anyone with information on Gilbert’s whereabouts is encouraged to not approach, but to contact Crime Stoppers at 979-836-TIPS (8477).

Investigation remains active with the Brenham Police Criminal Investigation Unit and the Texas Rangers.
