LOCAL FFA MEMBERS HONORED AT STATE CONVENTION
Members of the Brenham FFA and Burton FFA received several awards and accolades at last week’s 95th Texas FFA Convention in Dallas.

finalist for Outstanding Chapter Service Learning
Supervised Agricultural Experiences during the
annual Texas FFA Convention.

The Brenham FFA was presented the Golden Horizon Award, recognizing local FFA chapters with inclusive, progressive and aggressive activities that promote maximum participation. It also was honored as a Superior Chapter, a rating given to chapters that complete and document at least one activity in each of 15 quality standards. In addition, it was represented as a finalist for Outstanding Chapter Service Learning Supervised Agricultural Experiences (SAE). Kaylin Jacobs competed in Sr. Prepared Public Speaking in Animal Science and placed 10th.
Nine Brenham FFA members received the highest degree of membership that can be awarded by the Texas FFA Association, the Lone Star FFA Degree. Recipients were Kayla Curl, Kaden Seeker, Katie Seeker, Madison Moran, Chasidy Nowicki, Kaylin Jacobs, Kacy Harris, Kaylee Sodolak and Laci Strack.
As for the Burton FFA, Chet Fritsch received a $20,000 Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo scholarship. Dawson Rudloff was a state finalist for the John Justin Standard of the West Award. Zane Aschenbeck, Lorelei Cessna and Vicente Veliz received their Lone Star FFA Degree.
