GUNS & HOSES BLOOD DRIVE FRIDAY, SATURDAY IN BRENHAM

  

Local residents will have the opportunity to give the gift of life this weekend at a Guns and Hoses Blood Drive in Brenham.

The blood drive runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at the Calvary Baptist Church fellowship hall, at 1100 Niebuhr Street. 

Rob Aguilar of the Washington County Firefighters Association says the need for blood is always great.

Coffee and Max Donuts will be served in the morning, and a light lunch of Frito pie, sandwiches and drinks will be available starting at 11 a.m.  Childcare will be provided.

Successful donors will receive a coupon for a pint of Blue Bell Ice Cream.  In addition, the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center is partnering with Southwest Airlines to give out a $500 airline gift card every week in August; everyone who donates this weekend will automatically be entered into that giveaway.
