Starting on Monday, October 23rd, Blinn will offer classes at Waller ISD’s W.C. Schultz Junior High School, formerly known as Waller High School, at 20950 Field Store Road in Waller.

In an announcement video shared this (Wednesday) morning, Blinn Chancellor Dr. Mary Hensley said the College looks forward to bringing its commitment to student success to a new region.

Blinn already partners with Waller ISD to provide dual-credit courses at the high school, but this new site will offer core courses to members of the community.  Those courses will include English, government, history, math, philosophy and speech and will begin during the fall second 8-week term.

Students attending Blinn’s Waller location will also have access to the College’s online academic resources, such as tutoring and library services.

The new site in Waller was made possible after this past legislative session, where a bill was signed to expand the College’s service area into the portion of Waller ISD that is located in Harris County.

  1. So from the June 21 story on KWHI, it was stated, “Harris County is the 14th county that Blinn serves all or part of. The newly added territory does not change the College’s taxing district, which remains exclusively Washington County.” What does this mean for taxpayers in Washington County? Does it mean that we will be, still, the ones who are paying the major portion of the expenses for such expansion? It still seems as though Blinn College should move it’s official headquarters location to the Bryan campus where it serves the most number of students, and let the businesses and entities in the Brazos County area pay the taxes that we pay. Let Brenham become a satellite campus like the rest and lower our taxes, if that’s the case. I would certainly appreciate someone who has firsthand knowledge of how this works to reply. It never seems as though any information comes out of Blinn College except when it is benefiting Blinn.
