WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO DISCUSS TAX ASSESSOR-COLLECTOR’S OFFICE IN EXECUTIVE SESSION

Washington County Commissioners will hold an executive session regarding the Tax Assessor-Collector’s Office at their meeting on Tuesday.

The executive session discussion for personnel matters will lead what is otherwise expected to be a mostly routine meeting.  Any possible action will be taken in open session.

There will also be proclamations declaring the month of October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month and proclaiming October 26th as the observance of Paint the Town Pink.

In other business, the court will consider:

  • A presentation of the Office of Emergency Management’s quarterly report.
  • Increasing juror pay from $6 to $20 per day for the first day of jury service, and from $40 to $58 for each subsequent day of service for each jury called, per House Bill 3474 in the 88th Legislative Session.
  • Nominating and electing Washington County Appraisal District board members.
  • A resolution for the 2023 Washington County indigent defense grant program.

  • Extending time to use vacation hours for the Expo Director.

Commissioners will meet Tuesday at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse.

  1. Well hear we go again close the doors and a slap on the hand like the county engineer good old boys and there pets what a joke time for a change

  2. Why does the tax collector office not have the same hours as the other courthouse offices. When Ms. Gaskamp was asked this question she said well we open at 7:30. When I went to get a license sticker you can not get in the courthouse until 8:00. Not sure how that works, and don’t go after work because they close at 4:30 or before and also close for an hour at lunch. Not very convenient hours for working people. Wonder how many hours they are getting paid for??? Maybe The Spectator can get some answers on this issue.

      1. Perhaps half the office could go to lunch from 11:30-12:30 and the other half from 12:30-1:30?
