ONE CALL SUNDAY, ANOTHER EARLY MONDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

  

The Brenham Fire Department responded to one call over the weekend and one early this (Monday) morning.

Just past noon on Sunday, the department was called out to Highway 36 North and North Park Street for a grass fire.  Units arrived and found a small area in a ditch that had burned.  They wetted down the area and checked for hot spots before returning to service.

Then shortly before 1:45 a.m. today, firefighters went out to the 900 block of East Tom Green Street for a gas leak inside a building.  After they arrived and checked the area, they found the stove was leaking.  The department turned the valve off to the stove and ventilated the building.
