CUBS HOSTING RUDDER IN ANNUAL HOMECOMING GAME

The Brenham Cub Football Team is getting ready for the annual Homecoming Game against the Rudder Rangers this (Friday) evening.

The Cubs come into the game with a 4-3 overall record and a 2-1 district record. Brenham lost their first district game to Richmond Randle, but have bounced back with wins over Montgomery and Lamar Consolidated.

Rudder comes into the game with a 3-4 overall record and a 1-2 district record. Rudder defeated Lamar Consolidated, but has lost back to back games to Huntsville and Lake Creek.

For Brenham, QB Jordan Harvey (Jr.) has completed 81 of his 125 pass attempts for a 65% completion percentage. He has passed for 1,165 yards, eight touchdowns, and four interceptions. Harvey has also carried the ball 67 times for 232 yards and three touchdowns.

Jakoby Dixon (Fr.) is the leading rusher for the Cubs with 86 carries for 702 yards and nine touchdowns. He also has 18 catches for 250 yards, and two touchdowns.

Jaylon Ward (Sr.) has 48 carries for 354 yards and five touchdowns.

The leading receivers for Brenham include Chris Guidry, who has 15 carries for 446 yards and two touchdowns, as well as Ivan Salazar has 16 catches for 206 yards and 1 touchdown.

For Rudder, their offense is lead by QB Cody Billings (Jr.), who has completed 59 of 113 passes for 764 yards, eight touchdowns, and nine interceptions. Their leading rusher is Bruce Hendrick (Jr.), who has carried the ball 39 times for 303 yards and 4 touchdowns. The Rangers' lead receiver is Jaquise Martin (Jr.) who has 28 catches for 458 yards and six touchdowns.

With the Homecoming festivities going on and two upcoming games against Huntsville and Lake Creek, Coach Danny Youngs knows that this is a game that the Cubs can't overlook.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30pm at Cub Stadium in Brenham. Tommy Lange and I will have live coverage beginning with the pregame at 7pm on KWHI 1280AM, 101.7FM, and KWHI.com.
