KWHI gave out lots of treats Tuesday night during its annual on-the-radio Halloween Party.

Dozens of prizes were given away by special spooky guest DJs who called area families who submitted Halloween Party entry cards.  Prizes included new toys and gadgets, gift certificates to local businesses, and tickets to enjoy events and activities.

The big winners won a boy’s and girl’s bicycle from Nicholson Lake Road RV Park and Mr. Windshield, respectively.  The first grand prize winner was 7-year-old Oliver Johnston.

The second grand prize went to 8-year-old McKenzie Hicks.

Many other kids won as well, like 9-year-old Vaughn Hohlt.

KWHI has held the Halloween Party for decades as a safe, fun alternative to trick-or-treating and a way to encourage getting home at an early hour.

Families can hold on to the coupons that came with their Halloween Party entry cards, as they are good through the end of the year.  The coupons go to Whataburger, Horseshoe Junction, Buff City Soap, Mr. Gatti’s Pizza and Bush’s Chicken.

Winners can claim their prizes at the KWHI offices in downtown Brenham at 223 East Main Street.
