FOUR CALLS BETWEEN WEDNESDAY, EARLY THURSDAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPT.

  

Four calls were received between Wednesday and early this (Thursday) morning for the Brenham Fire Department.

After 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, the department was called out to a grass fire at Old Mill Creek Road and Farmers Road.  Firefighters made location and found there was no fire, just an overheated bearing on a hay baler.  Water was applied to cool off the bearing.

Shortly before 12:45 a.m. today, Brenham units responded along with the Gay Hill Volunteer Fire Department for a crash with a vehicle on fire.  Brenham firefighters arrived and assisted Gay Hill units in extinguishing a box truck that was on fire.  The fire was put out, and the Brenham Fire Department was released from the scene.  There were no injuries.

There were also two residential fire alarms on Wednesday in the 1000 block of Davy Street and the 1000 block of Republic Street.  Both were determined to be false alarms.
