DPS INVESTIGATING 18-WHEELER WRECK IN FAYETTE COUNTY

  
18 Wheeler crash (Fayette County Sheriff's Office)

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating an 18-wheeler crash that occurred in Fayette County during the early morning hours today (Wednesday).

An 18-wheeler that was carrying 40,000 pounds of green beans was traveling on I-10 Westbound at Mile Marker 673.

The vehicle left the roadway shortly after 2am, and crashed into the creek below.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, the Fayette County EMS, and the Schulenburg Volunteer Fire Department were all dispatched to assist at the scene.

According to the Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, the driver appeared to be okay. 

The cause of the crash is under a further investigation.
