WASHINGTON CO. APPRAISAL DISTRICT BOARD APPROVES CONTRACT FOR LEGAL REPRESENTATION
The Washington County Appraisal District Board of Directors approved a contract for legal representation of the appraisal district at its meeting on Tuesday.
The board agreed to retain Perdue Brandon Fielder Collins & Mott, LLP, the same firm that Brenham ISD signed a contract with on November 28th to perform delinquent tax collections.
Chief Appraiser Dyann White says the representation includes consultation for any legal questions, writing legal opinions if requested, and representing the appraisal district in any lawsuits regarding appraisals.
The firm agrees to waive its monthly retainer fees and hourly consultation costs – until a case is set for trial – as long as it has the collection contract.
The board also heard and approved the 2023 annual report and mass appraisal report, both of which are available on the appraisal district’s website, https://washingtoncad.org.
