ERCOT REQUESTS ENERGY CONSERVATION TUESDAY MORNING

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) has issued another request for energy conservation as a winter storm sends temperatures tumbling.

The call for conservation is tomorrow (Tuesday) from 6 to 9 a.m.  Residents and businesses are asked to reduce their energy usage if safe to do so, and government agencies are requested to implement all programs to cut down on energy use at their facilities.

ERCOT says it avoided emergency operations this (Monday) morning due to the public’s conservation efforts, along with additional grid reliability tools.

The conservation appeal, according to ERCOT, does not indicate emergency conditions at this time.

Similar conditions are expected on Wednesday.  ERCOT says it will continue to monitor conditions and inform the public through its communication channels.
