BURTON CITY COUNCIL TO MEET ON TUESDAY NIGHT
The Burton City Council will be holding their regular monthly meeting along with a workshop session on Tuesday night.
Items on the agenda include a discussion on the City’s Trash Service provider, as well as progress with water loss issues, and the creation of a Water & Sewer Board.
One of the other items is for Council members to schedule March 12 at 5:30pm for a public hearing on the 2024-2025 City of Burton General and Water & Sewer Budgets.
They will also be ordering an election and entering into an election services contract with Washington County for the May 4 General Election, and enter into an interlocal agreement with Burton ISD for the location of the election.
In addition to that, the Council is scheduled to pass a resolution to enter into an agreement with the State to close a section of the downtown area for the annual Burton Cotton Gin Festival on April 20.
Following the regular session, Council members will then go into a workshop session to discuss the budget for the 2024-2025 fiscal year.
The Burton City Council meets Tuesday at 5:30pm at the Burton City Hall.
